Friends: The 15-Year Edition

It has been 15 years since I graduated from Kearns High School. (I may have mentioned that in a previous post.) The summer after graduation, my friends and I went to Red Butte Garden to have our picture taken (non-professionally). I decided that we needed updated pictures. We started out in Kym's backyard and her husband was the photographer. After a fun romp at IKEA, we ended up at Leatherby's and then Gardner Village where we had tons of fun playing with my timer. Tara became the expert on that while Becca and I just goofed off. Here are the some of the fruits of our labors:

We always know how to have a good time! We just need to get together more often...

My First Trip to San Diego

So I have so much to blog about and I thought I would start the last week of July because that is when I started doing a ton of things! I was sent to San Diego for a school conference that week. I was so excited because I had never been to San Diego before-only L.A.! Other than the school things we had to do, I enjoyed seeing some of San Diego like Old Town. I didn't get to Sea World or the zoo, but I guess that just means I'll have to go back! I also got to see "Wicked" there. That makes THREE times! What was really cool was that after it was over, they had a question/answer period with the cast. It was the same cast that came to Salt Lake in April! Anyway, it was loads of fun as you can see from some of the pictures below!

Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport...

Krikee! I am off to learn the mysteries of Sydney, Australia tomorrow and I am all full of nerves! It will be the first time my sister has been on a plane (and out of the country) and it will be awesome to see her reactions. We will be staying mostly around Sydney, but I'm hoping to get to the Blue Mountains and do a walkabout. If we can swing it, we'll hit the Outback too, but that might be pushing it. I wish I could get paid just to travel, but I think it would require me to work for National Geographic or something. I'll have to give that some thought. I will be thinking of you while I am all DOWN UNDER! Don't have too much fun when I'm away!

15 Seconds of Fame

Little did I know what today had in store for me! I went downtown to meet Sommer so we could exchange our American money for Aussie dollars. As we were walking past Gallivan Plaza, Ron Bird accosted us and immediately asked us "quiz" questions about Gary Herbert and his new Lt. Governor choice. After this, he asked us our names and we went on our merry way. We ended up making it on the KUTV NOON NEWS!!! We thought it was the funniest thing. What a great story-did anyone see me?!

Temple Trip!

While the Jordan River Temple has been closed for cleaning and what-not, my friends and I set aside a day to go do an endowment session at the Logan Temple. Sommer had not been to the Logan Temple before, so we decided to make a day of it. Angela and I attended Utah State together so we were excited to go and visit the old haunts. We started with eating lunch at Wok on Wheels, one of the only places to find Tiny Spicy Chicken. For those who do not understand the importance of Tiny Spicy Chicken, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! We then attended our session which was just wonderful. Afterwards, we went to Logan's Summerfest which is an art festival. Great times and beautiful temple. We're hoping to visit all the temples in Utah sometime. I still have the Vernal, Monticello, Draper, Oquirrh Mountain, Ogden, and Provo temples to go. Am I missing one?
